Kirpling... Kirplong
I happened to be watching a kids TV show, and the character was singing
Kirpling…. kirplong… Kirpling…. kirplong
My little friend enlightened me, it is the sound the rain drops makes when it falls.
From Tip tip barsaa paani…. To kirpling kirplong……
I really miss monsoons…
I remember, when it was raining… It was like oh.. no, not again…. It’ll spoil all the plans.
Then, may be I can watch some movie, No if it rains heavily, the electricity will be gone… So say, bye bye to movie
Then get a book, a cup of hot coffee, and to the window seat. I loved watching the raindrops make circles in the mud colored water. I still can hear the warning note in the back ground, “don’t sit near the window when there is lightening”
I like the coolness when it rains.
I remember hating rain, when going to the school, and longing for rain, while returning from the school.
I remember splashing water with legs, on the way back from school, tearing center page and making paper boats while walking. And people running away from the roadside the farthest they can to avoid the splashing of muddy water from the gutters while a vehicle is passing.
I remember the frowned face of the woman sitting in the bus, when we get into the bus all soaked up, the way she struggles away from our water dripping selves & umbrellas. I remember the feeling of small raindrops sprays to the face thru the bus window. The way people force me to shut down the window by shutting theirs as in a chain reaction.
I love the aftermath of rains. Trees all soaked up, water drops dripping from the leaves, small, small waterfalls and The green grass full of water drops.
I like the way the sun comes after the clouds are gone.
I can’t wait to experience a monsoon again… soon, I hope.
